Overview
Plain English Summary: Class Architect only sends your Webflow element structure (tag names and class names) to OpenAI to generate suggestions. We never access your page content, personal data, or store anything on our servers unless you have a Pro subscription (for license verification only).
This Privacy Policy explains how Class Architect ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Class Architect Webflow Designer Extension.
By installing or using Class Architect, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Extension.
02
Information We Collect
Within the Extension:
- Element tree data: When you click "Scan", we collect your selected element's tag names and existing CSS class names. This is temporarily sent to OpenAI and never stored on our servers.
- Naming convention setting: Your selected convention (Client-First, BEM, Atomic, Custom) is stored locally in your browser via localStorage.
- History log: Class name changes are stored locally in your browser only. Free: up to 20 entries. Pro: unlimited. This data never leaves your browser.
- License key (Pro only): Your key is sent to our backend for subscription verification. We store a hashed token — never the plaintext key.
On the Website:
- Analytics: We use privacy-respecting analytics with no personal identifiers — page views and referral sources only.
- Contact inquiries: If you email us, we receive your name and email address solely to respond to your request.
03
How We Use Your Data
- Generate class name suggestions — element structure is sent to OpenAI solely for CSS class name recommendations.
- Verify Pro subscriptions — license keys are verified to determine your feature access.
- Improve the product — aggregated, anonymized analytics help us prioritize improvements.
- Respond to support requests — your email is used solely to respond.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.
04
Data Sharing & Third Parties
- OpenAI: Element tree data (tag names + class names) is sent to OpenAI's API. OpenAI processes this under its own Privacy Policy. No personal identifiers or page content is transmitted.
- Lemon Squeezy: Payment processing for Pro subscriptions. We do not handle or store your payment card data. See Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy.
- Webflow: Class Architect runs inside Webflow Designer. Your Webflow use is also governed by Webflow's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.
05
Data Storage & Retention
- History, settings, preferences — stored in your browser's localStorage. Clearing browser data removes them.
- Element tree data — not stored on our servers. OpenAI may retain it per their own policies (typically 30 days for API calls).
- License verification tokens (Pro only) — stored on our backend for the duration of your subscription, deleted on cancellation.
- Email inquiries — retained for up to 12 months, then deleted.
06
OpenAI & AI Processing
What is sent to OpenAI: Only element tag names and existing CSS class names. Example: Section → "hero-section", Div → "div-block-3". No page text, images, or personal data is transmitted.
Class Architect uses OpenAI's API (GPT-4o for Pro, GPT-4o mini for Free). When you trigger generation:
- Your element tree structure is extracted within Webflow Designer
- Tag names and current class names are packaged into a prompt
- The prompt is sent to OpenAI via encrypted HTTPS
- OpenAI returns suggested class names displayed in the Extension
We use OpenAI's privacy settings to ensure API data is not used to train OpenAI's models. See OpenAI's API Data Usage Policies.
07
Cookies & Analytics
- No advertising cookies — we don't run ad campaigns requiring tracking cookies.
- Analytics — we use a privacy-respecting analytics tool that does not use cookies and collects no personal information.
- Essential cookies — Lemon Squeezy may use session cookies to manage your checkout session.
The Extension itself does not set any cookies. Settings are stored in localStorage, which is not a cookie.
